review...
The Planet Scanners were born out of Chris's
desire to create a live improvising group, named after his solo
"Scanning Planet 3", strike a unique balance between out-there
spaciness and hybrids of jazz and folk musics. The feel is sometimes like
that of "Adventure" era Brainticket (think Oregon or Codona
territory sans the jazz and lots of cosmic ooze), with many of those unique
Rain Garden touches, and the fascinating tones of Mick's electric violin. All
3 musicians have also featured with Shapeshifter, have jammed together with
Endgame, and are/were one of the most exciting bands on the Leicester live
scene.
CD-R edition: Auricle AMCDR 054 - released ?/?/2004.
