Part of the "Horselength" event organised by William English. Recorded and filmed by Jim Tetlow using static cameras in near darkness! Collage and video effects added by Jim were not at the original event! Alan: spring-board, synthesizer. Steve: acoustic CD, prepared sounds/loops. Jim: digital sonics. review... Endgame's first concert outside of Leicester was a strange experience! The Horse Hospital (a London arts venue) in December was cold, and we played in near darkness. But it was a buzz, and we did a pretty impressive set. Jim filmed it, did some location shots, and various other bits and then put it all through his psychedelic special effects gizmos to make a video that's not a visual document of what people saw, but something even more exciting! Musically, it's patent Endgame and not, lots of swirling progressions and climaxes, with elements ranging from early Klaus Schulze textures via Morphogenesis to Stockhausen. Some wonderful mutant organ textures, scattered sounds, live musique-concrete and fragments of Dada text collage. Amazing that we pulled off something so complex with such minimal kit!
