Electronic Flights link press clip... This monthly improvised electronic music performance event was
first held on 17 June 2008, and thus event QE145 on 23 June 2020 was supposed
to by the 12th anniversary. Well, the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns
scuppered that, with Quadelectronic events being postponed since March. So,
to fill the gap and ensure we all keep in contact, Quad Studios boss Bob
Bryars first suggested the idea of a virtual Quad hook-up online, although
most of us have no idea how to do that. So, Chris Conway suggested that we do
it the old "mail art" way, except that we'd share individual
recordings via the web, which Jim Tetlow could then mix into duos and groups
as he saw fit. The name given to this project is "United Isolation
Ensemble" which is proving to be quite a unique entity in its own right.
The "doors" are also open anyone else that wishes to contribute,
which has meant a much wider net than Quadelectronic itself, with our old
friend Nigel Harris joining-in all the way from Japan! As I write this, seven
events, each amounting to a double CD, have been completed. You can listen to

#60, page 3 (December 2020) "diversions" Since the
above events, Quadelectronic has continued monthly with many of the same
people involved, and also branched out with a concert at DeMontfort University's
"Weird Garden" and the Seismic Telegraph project. The February 2026
event QE180 was completed just before updating this page. |
