releases... review... Tangle Edge - an
introduction Tangle Edge are a nucleus of
Ronald Nygard (various guitars, synth and percussives) and Hasse Horrigmoe
(bass, acoustic guitar, synths and percussives), who first got together way
back in 1978. It wasn't until 1980 however, that they got together a proper band:
Sentralvaskeriet together with another guitarist and a drummer. These where
principally a blues band, and eventually without the second guitarist moved
to more experimental realms becoming Tangle Edge. Ronald and Hasse had always
wanted to produce real progressive rock, so they began to experiment with
rock structures, practice techniques and develop their own sound. The
influences Tangle Edge quote on their press-sheet help clarify their sound
very well... Amon DuuI II, Can, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi
Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Faust, King Crimson, Van Der Graf Generator, Jan
Garbarek, Jethro Tull, and adding to that what I can hear in their music...
Hawkwind, Popol Vuh, AIain Markusfeld, Camel, Shylock, Chillum, Yes. Tangle
Edge comprise all that's great in rock music, their adaptation and
personalisation of all these influences makes for a very rich and involved
sound. by Alan Freeman, in Audion #13
